This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The first part is the translation of a chosen passage from the book Sorcières : La puissance invaincue des femmes by the Swiss author Mona Chollet. The translated part speaks about the witches, the historical context, describes witch hunts that took place in Europe and overseas and speaks about contemporary witches. The second part is theoretical and consists of a commentary, which includes the translation analysis, the translation conception, problems and their possible solutions, the translation methods and the description of translation shifts.
